23.05.08 EIGHT FROM EIGHT: LEXUS TOPS J.D. POWER SATISFACTION INDEX

Lexus has taken out the prestigious UK J.D. Power and Associates customer satisfaction index for the eighth consecutive year.

Lexus beat 28 other car-makers to take out the Gold Award for customer satisfaction, which it has won every year since it became eligible for the awards in 2000 - a feat that remains unmatched by any other car manufacturer worldwide.

Lexus was the highest-ranked manufacturer of all marques involved in the survey with a score of 866 out of a possible 1000, well above the industry average of 803.

The award is based on vehicle evaluations from more than 16,000 vehicle owners in the UK after an average of two years of ownership.

It evaluates 77 vehicle attributes grouped into four categories: quality and reliability, service satisfaction, vehicle appeal and ownership costs.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca said that the award recognised Lexus' pursuit of perfection.

"The eighth consecutive award for Lexus is testament to our desire to deliver the best product to consumers," he said.

"Lexus is highly regarded as an industry leader in vehicle design and innovation and this award recognises that.

"Lexus continues to rate highly in the area of customer satisfaction and support. This is due to our dealer network, which strives to offer nothing but the best."
