You've greater peace of mind in knowing the IS250 has achieved the highest rating by the Australasian New car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). With its extensive array of active and passive safety systems, including a full complement of airbags, it achieved a five star rating for driver and passenger safety.
Pre-Collision Safety system
For added peace of mind, IS 250 Sports Luxury has the Lexus Pre-Collision safety System (PCS) – to help reduce collision injury and damage. A radar sensor in the front grille constantly scans for objects in front of the car. If the system determines that a collision is unavoidable, it retracts the front seatbelts and signals the Brake Assist system to increase braking force and hence help reduce collision speed.
Active Cruise Control (ACC)** monitors ahead
For more relaxed highway cruising, IS 250 Sports Luxury has Active Cruise Control (ACC)**, using the radar sensor in the front grille. You can simply set your preferred highway speed via touch controls on the steering wheel, or you can set your desired following distance from the vehicle in front. Then, should the radar detect that distance is closing or detect another vehicle in your path, Active Cruise Control reduces your speed and even applies the brakes if necessary. Your nominated speed is resumed once a safe following distance can be maintained.
Knee airbags
A class-leading SRS airbag package includes dual front airbags, front side airbags and full-length side curtain shield airbags as standard. In addition, all models have front knee airbags, to help reduce the chance of lower limb damage in a collision for front seat occupants.
Twin chamber airbags
On the passenger's side, a highly advanced Twin Chamber airbag has been installed to lessen the impact of airbag deployment to the front seat passenger. This superior design has a V-shape distributing the physical impact to the shoulders and upper torso.
More responsive ABS braking with Brake Assist
The braking system has been further optimised with improved brake control performance. The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) utilises a sophisticated modulation pattern to dramatically reduce stopping distances, regardless of conditions. Brake Assist (BA) helps supplement your braking effort during emergency stops.
Traction Control
Your connection with the road is enhanced during acceleration, with the help of Traction Control to minimise wheelspin.
The confidence of Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM)
Should you encounter challenging road conditions, an advanced Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system is standard across the IS 250 range. VDIM gives you a greater sense of control by integrating the braking, throttle and steering controls, for enhanced drivability.
