Whisper quiet electric acceleration

As you press the 'start' button, only the electric power is activated in the LS 600hL. From standstill, the electric motor accelerates almost silently, complementing the refined ride dynamics. Power release occurs the moment you touch the accelerator, yet virtually no hydrocarbon emissions are produced.

Low emission levels

Breathe easy as this immense power comes with the fuel economy and low CO2 emissions of 219 kg/km, comparable with a conventional V6 engine.

A direct-injection boost

The performance sensation is due in part to a direct-injection fuel intake system which boosts performance and efficiency. Flexibility and response at all engine speeds is further enhanced by dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-iE). The inlet valve timing is electric motor-driven (VVT-i), for more precise tuning.

Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission

This transmission allows the two power sources in the Lexus Hybrid Drive system to work as one. Yet unlike a normal transmission, the Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) allows seamless acceleration, without the jolting of gear changes you experience with a conventional transmission. The E-CVT even contributes to the impressive fuel economy.
